The plan will cover accidental stains, including:
•    Water spillage
•    Nail varnish remover
•    Drinks such as red wine or coffee
•    Unidentifiable staining such as a stain appearing after a party
•    Food such as curry or pizza
•    Inks such as biro, felt tip or permanent marker
•    Air fresheners
•    Glue
•    Nail varnish
•    Dye spillage
•    Grease from spilt food
•    Candle wax

The plan will cover accidental damage, including:
•    Scratches caused by keys
•    Tears or rips to the covering chair fabric
•    Heat rings caused by hot plates and cups
•    Broken glass caused by a dropped item

If damage listed above occurs to your furniture during the cover period, please call Guardsman on: 0345 600 5886.  If necessary, a furniture care specialist will be sent to your home to rectify the problem, free of charge.

In the unlikely event that the problem cannot be rectified, then either the affected part will be replaced or a full replacement will be made at no extra cost (subject to terms and conditions).

This will protect your purchase for five years from date of delivery. One warranty must be purchased for each seat, a two seater or three seater sofa require two or three warranties respectively. The corner sofa will require 5 guardsman warranties to be purchased. With Fabricgard Plus From Guardsman you will benefit from 5 year coverage against stains and accidental damage to your upholstery.

The plan will cover accidental stains, including:
•    Drinks such as red wine or coffee
•    Food such as curry and pizza
•    Bodily fluids such as blood or vomit
•    Ink such as biro, felt tip or permanent marker
•    Unidentifiable stains such as a stain appearing after a party
•    Paint
•    Make up and toiletries
•    Dye transfer from jeans or newspaper (not as a result of a build up)
•    Oil based stains such as grease or tar
•    Adhesive's and glues
•    Bleaches and other household cleaning products
•    Acidic liquids such as vinegar and lemon juice

The plan will cover accidental damage, including:
•    Tears and rips caused by keys and belt buckles
•    Scratches and snags caused by jewellery
•    Burns caused by cigarettes
•    Thread pulls
•    Pet Scratches (not as a result of build-up)

Guardsman cover is underwritten by Pinnacle Insurance plc, Pinnacle House, Al Barnet Way, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire WD6 2XX. Unless agreed otherwise, cover is governed by English law. The limit of cover is limited to the purchase price of the product and shall not exceed £15000. This insurance is limited to the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

What Is Not Covered
We will not cover you for damage, soiling or staining caused prior to or during delivery; any flaws or defects discovered during the period of cover; failure to comply with the manufacturer or supplier's instructions for the care and maintenance of your product; the incorrect use/application of any stain removal substances or materials; damage during transit, storage, neglect, abuse or misuse of the product; damage caused by wild animal/birds, termites, insects, moths or vermin; domestic pet damage caused by biting, chewing or extensive scratching.

Extensive scratching includes incidents of multiple scratching (including multiple areas) or any scratching which has occurred over a period of time and/or not reported to us at the time of the occurrence. 

General wear and tear consistent with age and normal/standard level of usage according to the manufacturer's product guide; damage caused by soiling, perspiration, hair and body fluids; damage caused by contractors; changes in colour of any part of your product regardless of the cause unless stain is detailed in the coverage text; fire, scorching, heat damage, flood, burst pipes (including radiator leaks and spillages), sunlight, wind or weather; leaking roofs and conservatories, theft or any other similar external cause.

Removal of odours, even when caused by a stain; use of the product in commercial or sub-let premises, any other costs that are indirectly caused by the event which led to your claim, unless specifically stated in this policy.

Routine repair/cleaning whether carried out by a Valspar approved repairer/cleaner or another party; build up, staining/damage which has occurred over a period of time and or not reported at the time of the occurrence.

If you have claimed from any other insurer for the same cause; any gradually occurring fault that you would have reasonably been aware of or that Valspar confirms commenced during the manufacturer's guarantee period or failure or repairs carried out during the first year of this protection plan which should have properly been carried out under the manufacturer's guarantee.

Any manufacturing defect to the covering material including but not limited to scars, flaws, knots, bites, brand marks, manufacturer's chalks/inks or any other natural characteristic; delamination of flock fabrics; and any accidental damage, structural fault or accidental stains to your product where it has been moved to or is situated outside the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
