What is Linen?
Linen is the fabric made from the fibre of the flax plant. It is the oldest textile known to man, dating back to 8000 BC, and has been used for centuries as a staple fabric both to furnish the home and to wear as clothing. It is one of the most environmentally friendly fibres to work with as 100% of the plant is used, there is no wastage: what is not used in the linen process is used in other manufacturing processes, such as paints, cosmetics, insulation and even bank notes!
In order to make the linen the fibres undergo a rigorous nine step production process, beginning in the yarn warehouse in Belgium and ending up with our suppliers in the UK where the finished linens are expertly upholstered across our sofas, chairs and footstools.
